Something stronger than Rybka ??

Azaad: From the CCC First Christopher Conkie: Bill Rogers wrote:
Hello Chris If Rolf is wrong and you claim that there is another program that is stronger than Rybka then why don't you name it ... Bill
Why would I want to advertise a clone? I can only assure you that its the truth. ... Christopher And later PS Bill, I can tell you with 100% accuracy that there is something out there stronger than Rybka. The reason for not naming it is simple. If the cloners don't know about it yet, then the computer chess scene is better off with them not knowing about it for as long as humanly possible. In my own testing, it beat Rybka 3, +46 =11 -13. Do you really want to see 100 Rybka clones out there? ... Those that do know about it are keeping in close to their chests and are purely using good judgement for the betterment of our hobby. Peter

никел: Now that you talk about something stronger, what happened with Chess64 and FL?

Azaad: никел writes: Now that you talk about something stronger, what happened with Chess64 and FL? It's interesting that both CC and PS refer to this mystery engine as a clone .

никел: But then are they referring to Chess64?

Azaad: никел writes: But then are they referring to Chess64? That means they are not referring to chess64

никел: Oh, I am a bit lost then

Azaad: никел writes: Oh, I am a bit lost then But perhaps it doesn't matter as neither of the above two gentlemen lets the facts come in the way of an otherwise good story . They may may as well adopt " Who are you going to believe ? Me or your lying eyes ? " as their signature

Tommy: http://tonythomas.mylivepage.com/forum/134_General/2566_Hustle_CCT12_leaked According to Ben Lau: I while back a gave Hustle CCT12 for testing to five CCC members that I though were trustworthy. Now apparently, from what I have read on CCC, Hustle CCT12 has been leaked.

ChrisC: It's got nothing to do with your hex edited mess.

CBF: ChrisC writes: It's got nothing to do with your hex edited mess. Well, hex-editing can make the difference between working and non-working ... as you can see in numerous examples here!

Azaad: CBF writes: Well, hex-editing can make the difference between working and non-working ... as you can see in numerous examples here! Not only that . It can even make the 64 bit version 191 points stronger than it's 32 bit counterpart . никел writes: Immortal, +191? Cannot be. Azaad what have you done!

ChrisC: I'm afraid it is not your pile of crap either. 64bit or no 64bit.

Azaad: ChrisC writes: I'm afraid it is not your pile of crap either. 64bit or no 64bit. O, woe is me !I'm shattered .

batatas: If I understand correctly, some people are saying that Hustle is stronger than Rybka? "In my own testing, it beat Rybka 3, +46 =11 -13" Is that Hustle chess engine?

indianajones: batatas writes: Is that Hustle chess engine? isn't that hustle in news for a long time ? i personally think it is (hustle) just gas I think its gotta be some kinda rocket combo which they might have devised... not which someone else had devised . If it was someone else then why would they be holding them on their chest? it might just be highly fictitious and if they could show some games then we can scrutinise them and believe

Tommy: They say it’s a clone but it's stronger than Rybka 3. A clone of what? Must be a Rybka clone because PS said his reason for not naming it is “Do you really want to see 100 Rybka clones out there?”. So a Rybka clone that is stronger than Rybka. Doesn’t make sense. Unless its not a clone but a derivative or a hybrid. Oh, I forgot, according to them derivatives and hybrids are also clones.

chessgod101: I Found A proclaimed copy of hustle 5.01, but some say it's a clone. Are their any other versions available? Here's the one I found. [hideguest]http://www.mediafire.com/?yglmo2y2yn4[/hideguest]

Gambit_Man: Hi, I was curious as I downloaded this "hustle 5.01" and ran a quick 15 game match against Rybka 3 - PC Q6600 Quad, timecontrol 2+0, neutral book used. Rybka won all 15 games very convincingly (none were even close) so whatever this Hustle engine is it isn't a clone of Rybka 3 and it certainly isn't "something stronger than Ryba". Also the kn/s & search depth output is completely different from Rybka ie. Hustle reports around 1600 kn/s whereas Rybka on my PC is around 200kn/s on average - I would say it looks more like the output from Fruit so maybe it is a Fruit clone ? Also I noticed that Hustle slows right down in the middle game and often seems to be winning - then it does really badly in the end game and is thrashed by Rybka.

chessgod101: Sounds like it's based on Strelka(if not a clone of it). Strelka's endgame is terrible with a strong middle game.

kranium: if there's something stronger than Rybka...where is it? why hasn't it been released? i'm not convinced...

Gambit_Man: I think it's hiding in the same place as Bigfoot, Yeti, the Loch Ness Monster and Flying Saucers
