Azaad: anon_c , a couple of problems . I'm getting the same error as Gambit_man ( could not load msvcp90.dll ) . Original chessbaseadmintool.exe runs normally . I'm using the latest F12 GUI update as of today patched with CB-patch . EDIT: - As I posted it was not working on XP x64 . Tried on Windows 7 x64 ( dual-boot on the same computer) and it worked perfectly . Must be a case of some missing library on XP . You second DF12 ceack was working correctly ( but without multi-PV ) but it's not working anymore on any computer where it was previously working . It works only when I start it with the GUI . If I change to another engine and reload it it will stop at a very small depth ( i.e. it's now behaving like your first crack ) . Don't know whether it's a time-bomb protection or something else .
никел: Azzy, did you download DF12 light? There is a vcredist_x86.exe included in the setup
Azaad: никел I've downloaded that also but not used that yet . I'm using the simple GUI update . As I edited working on Win 7 so a case of some missing runtime on my XP x64 .
никел: Yes, the file vcredist_x86.exe is supposed to install those missing .dlsl and if it is included in DF12setup, must be for some reason...

IIRC his 2nd patch required that NO protection files (*.prot) exist, but his last activator creates just these *.prot files. So if you have successfully run this activator, then of course his previous (2nd) patch won't work correctly anymore, unless you manually delete this *.prot file.

No , it stopped running on 3 computers ( 6 OSes in total ) before I tried his activator . And on 2 computers I've still not run the activator . In fact I tried the activator precisely because the second crack had stopped working . If it's still working correctly on your computers then I'm lost for any explanation . I don't remember changing anything on my laptop and the second desktop .

It ( the cracked DF12 engine ) was running ( sans multi-PV ) on minimal F12/F11 GUIs . It should still do so assuming that the current problem is on my end . I've now tried all possible combinations wrt. the F12 engine on my new XP-notebook, and in fact EVERYTHING works: - the activator and the original F12 engine with the *.prot files - the 2nd anon_c patched F12 engines with and without the *.prot files - and also directly loaded with the GUI and switching to DS12 and back to F12 (of course with the MultiPV problem for the 2nd crack) None of all these trials made any problem here, so it should really be something on your system. Have you looked into your registry (...\Software\ChessBase\...) if there are any entried for the F12 engine? If yes, then try it again after deleting them.

The license (prot file) contains infos on the date of the activation (it should be between the creation of the engine, and the current date). It was not fixed in the DF12 cr@ck. So, it is not surprising that it can work on one day and not the other day... AC

bulldozer: Ok. I installed DF12 light, activated the engine, but can't activate the GUI CB-Patch 3.2 does not work with this DF12 light GUI.
commiechess: Try the other chessbaseadmintool from reloaded to activate the DF12Light GUi. It will activate the GUI.

totoymola: Hey dudes.. What did i miss? I was only away for a few days and now I can't even relate to your conversations! What is this DF12Light? I don't even have the Deep Fritz 12 installer.. I was wondering if you guys can help me find it.

totoymola: Wow! Thanks Azaad !! I can't believe I missed that much!! I could be wrong, but I see that they only offer Deep Fritz 12 for download.. Do they have this for other programs too?

If you mean this 200MB DF12-installer which is downloadable from the Chessbase site, then you're wrong. CB-Patch 3.3 (and also 3.2) does work for this latest DF12-GUI (well, unless they've changed anything again in the last 2-3 days ...)
